Application

PRE-ENROLLMENT

Pre-enrollment is necessary and should be done early. Students should select a first and second choice for classes, since participants are limited in number. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age to participate in courses. Students must be certified by a Chief Officer to attend.

All pre-enrollment forms must be accompanied by a check or money order for the course selected, made payable to the Washington County Firemen’s Association. The 8-hour hands-on courses are $100.00/day. The Friday night seminar is $10.00.

Out of state students are required to pay an additional $50.00 per student for any class. The 8-hour program will cost $150.00. See paragraph below on where the additional $50.00 must be sent.

Bucks County Community College is your educational provider and does not charge fees for these programs. All fees collected are for use by the local organization. All out-of-state students are subject to an additional $50.00 fee, and must submit a separate check or money order for $50.00 made payable to Bucks County Community College. Chief’s Authorization

In authorizing a student to attend, the Chief certifies that the student:

  1. Meets the qualifications to attend.
  2. Is covered by his/her Company’s Workers Compensation Policy while attending this training course.

Site & Student Information

Hands-on training will be conducted at the former Western Center property located on Morganza Road in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, directly adjacent to Southpointe. Lunch will be provided both days. All courses will begin at 8:30 AM and require turnout gear, SCBA, and spare cylinder. All students should have completed the PA. State Fire Academy Essentials of Fire Fighting or an equivalent introductory fire fighting course or be certified at the Fire Fighter I Level in accordance with NFPA 1001. These courses are physically demanding and require that the participant be in good physical condition. For more information, contact:

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations received prior to September 1, 2006 are fully refundable. NO REFUNDS after September 1, 2006. Substitutions are allowed provided registrations is notified.
